January
Monday 11th to Friday 22nd – Transition Weeks
The children will have the opportunity to spend time in their new classroom.

Monday 25th – New Classes Start
This will be your child’s first official week in their new classroom.

Tuesday 26th – Australia Day Public Holiday
Centre Closed

Wednesday 27th – Australia Day Celebrations
Come dressed in green and gold to celebrate the landing date of the First Fleet in Port Jackson in 1788.

February
Tuesday 2nd  - Nude Food Day
Children will learn about the differences that their actions can make on their own health and the environment. Children and parents are encouraged to think about more environmentally sustainable practices such as using containters rather than gladwrap and taking reusable bags shopping. 

Friday 19th - World Day for Social Justice
Children will participate in experiences to learn about living a peaceful and prosperous coexistence with others. 

Monday 22nd - SHOW: Renata presents 'The Power of Words'. Time 10:00am. Cost $7.00
This show helps children learn to communicate, by experiencing some common childhood disputes, role playing and dressing up, and learnin songs and actions to enocurage them to speak out appropriately 

March
Monday 7th - Clean Up Australia Day
Children will pariticpate in experiences to learn about environmental issues of waste, water and climage change. 

Tuesday 15th - SHOW: Ocean Life Education. Time 9:45am. Cost $7.00
Our children will get the opportunity to meet and handle sea life creatures.  They will also discover how to look after their sea life environment. 

Thursday 24th– Easter Bonnet Parade
Come dressed in your Easter bonnet ready for the parade in the afternoon. We may even have a special visitor!

Friday 25th – Good Friday

Tuesday 29th - Neighbour Day
Children will learn about the importance of building better relationships with the people around us.

April
Friday 1st - National Smile Day Fundraiser - Gold Coin Donation 
Show your pearly whites and support the Clown Doctors with the hope of bringing smiles to sick children across Australia. 

Wednesday 20th -  SHOW:  Tomato Patch Program.  Time: 10:00 Cost: $7.50 
Come and experience a wonderland of percussion instruments!  Crazy shapes, crazy sounds, crazy ways to produce the sounds!  Exotic instruments from around the world, fun instruments made from recycled objects, simple instruments from our own backyard. 

Monday 25th – Anzac Day

Tuesday 26th - Anzac Day Rememberance
Come to Adeona dressed in Australian or New Zealand colours to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Gallipoli landing.

Wednesday 4th – Mother’s Day Morning Tea – Time: 9.30 am
Our mothers, grandmothers and special friends are welcomed to the centre to enjoy a morning tea with their child/grandchild 

Monday 16th-20th Families Week
Come to Adeona and explore how families are defined by love and caring, by respect and safety. 

Thursday 19th - SHOW: Renata Presents 'All Families are Special'. Time 10:00am. Cost $7.00
This show talks about the similarites and differences in our homes and our peers homes, from rules, to food, to cultural practices and family structures.

Friday 15th – Adeona’s Birthday Party
Come dressed in your party attire to help celebrate Adeona turning 10 years old! A jumping castle and lots of fun activities will be provided for the whole family.

Friday 24th – Red Nose Day
Show your support and raise awareness for SIDS by coming in to Adeona wearing red clothing and a red nose.

Wednesday 29th – International Mud Day
Children and early childhood processionals all over the world celebrate nature, outdoors and mess by getting really muddy.  Be sure to wear some old clothes and bring a spare set for later.

July
Monday 11th - SHOW: Renata presents the Australiana Show. Time: 10:00am Cost: $7.00 
Through visual props, Endeavour ships and pictures, the history of how Australia was discovered is communicated.  We learn about the native animals and indigenous people that were the inhabitors of this land, and that the European people and animals that were bought here on fleets with Captain Cook. 

Monday 6th - Friday 10th – NAIDOC Week (National Aborigines & Islanders Day Observance Committee)
This week marks the annual time of celebration for Indigenous people. During this week children will be involved in experiences celebrating the Indigenous culture.

Wednesday 15th – Crazy Sock Day
Come to Adeona wearing your craziest socks.

Monday 20th- Pyjama Day
Roll out of bed and come to Adeona dressed in your pyjamas for a slumber party in the cool weather!

Wednesday 29th – Thursday 30th – Photo Day

August
Friday 7th – Jeans for Genes Day Cost: Gold Coin Donation
Come to Adeona wearing denim to help raise awareness for Children Medical Research Institute.

Wednesday 12th – Public Holiday
Royal Queensland Show- Centre Closed

Friday 14th – Sunflower Planting Workshop.  Time: 10:00am Cost: $7 per child 
An interactive learning expereince encouraging children to explore rheir imaginations as they enter the magical garden and meet Scarecrow, Magpie, Millie the Mouse and other wonderful characters. 

Monday 17th -Friday 21st - Family Fun Week 
Parents, Grandparents and special friends are invited to join is throughout the week to help with an expereince in your child's room.  Please notify your child's educator if you would like to join us. 

Friday 21st  - Senior Citizen's Day

September
Tuesday 1st – Father’s Day Afternoon Tea.  Time 3:30pm
Fathers and Grandfathers are invited to the centre to enjoy us for afternoon tea with their children/grandchildren.

Thursday 3rd – Early Childhood Educators Day
A special day where we take time to appreciate the wonderful job our Adeona Educators do.

Monday 14th - SHOW- Wildcall Wildlife Show.  Time: 10:30am Cost: $7 per child
Wildcall brings the zoo to you.  Children meet, learn adn interact with native animals, encouraging them to take positive action in the conservation of our native wildlife.  

Friday 18th September - International Talk like a Pirate Day
Come and join us dressed in your favourite pirate outfit to help celebrate this day of pirate talk

Tuesday 22nd – Crazy Hair Day
Join the festivities and come to Adeona showing off your craziest hairstyle.

October

Monday 12th - Friday 16th - Nutrition Week  
The children will have the opportunity to participate in expereinces and discuss topics based around healthy nutrition.

Tuesday 20th - SHOW:  Spanish Fusion. Time: 10:00am Cost: $5 per child
Come and learn the fiery flamenco fusion as well as learning about traditional Spanish traditions in an interactive performance! 

Tuesday 27th – Pink Ribbon Day
Come to Adeona dressed in pink and support breast cancer research

Friday 30th – Halloween Party
Come dressed up ready to trick or treat. The children will have the opportunity to participate in Halloween arts and crafts.

November
Tuesday 3rd – Melbourne Cup Celebrations
Wear your best hat or outfit to celebrate the Melbourne Cup and get ready for the fashion parade.

Wednesday 18th- SHOW- Roushini presents The Festival of Lights. Time 10:00am Cost: $7 per child 
Children will interact with Roushini to learn and re-tell the Diwali story.  The interactive show has colourful light effects, dressing up, forehead painting and energetic dancing!

Wednesday 11th -Veterans Day/Remembrance Day
Come wearing a red poppy to show your support for veterans past and present.

Friday 13th – Diwali Festival 
Help us celebrate Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights.  Our children will participate in dressing up, dancing and decorating lamps. 

Wednesday 18th- SHOW- Roushini presents The Festival of Lights. Time 10:00am Cost: $7 per child 
Children will interact with Roushini to learn and re-tell the Diwali story.  The interactive show has colourful light effects, dressing up, forehead painting and energetic dancing!

Friday 28th – Movember Day
Mo'over fresh faces and come to Adeona sporting your best and most creative moustache to help raise awareness for prostate cancer.

December
Thursday 3rd – International Day of People with a Disability
Come to Adeona dressed in blue to show your support for the dignity, rights and well-being of people with a disbailty.

Friday 4th - Yellow Tribe Graduation.  Details to be advised 
A final celebration to congratulate and celebrate the past year as a preschooler. 


Wednesday 9th - Adeona’s Christmas Party
Adeona will be holding their annual Christmas party today. Details will be provided closer to the date.

Monday 21st - Santa Hat Day
Come wearing a santa hat to participate in the festivities.
