Dear Families,

Firstly I would like to thank all our families for their co-operation and understanding as Adeona has implemented new strategies to keep our community safe. We appreciate your diligence in hand hygiene and keeping unwell children away, which will enable us to continue to provide our service to those that need it.

I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge our amazing staff who have kept calm and carried on. These are unprecedented times for all of us and we are proud of our Adeona educators who have continued to provide an emotionally safe and nurturing place for our children and families.

As most people would be aware the Australian Government is urging educational and care facilities to remain open. Adeona will continue to operate as normal while the advice from the Government Authorities still recommends for us to do so.

I understand that some families may choose to keep their children at home during this time. Adeona, following Government advice, will continue to administer its Childcare Fee’s policy. However, the Australian Government has indicated that there is provision to extend on the number of allowable absences in certain circumstances. If your child has a medical condition or compromised immunity, we recommend that you seek medical advice about your child’s attendance in an early childhood setting during this event. As mentioned in my letter last week, Adeona will not charge fees should we need to close for a period of time.

If you are experiencing any financial hardship please speak to the Service Director. All matters will be handled with confidentiality and we will aim to support your family the best we can.

I would also like to share some resources that may be of help during this time. Family and Child Connect is a government service that aims to connect families to a variety of community services including parenting support, financial counselling, mental and physical health services and many other government programs. Links to other parenting and support services can be found on www.adeona.com.au/links.

We understand that these are challenging and unprecedented times. Our priority is to protect your health and wellbeing and to keep our centres operating safely. We are constantly monitoring the advice of the Department of Health and the Australian Government and will continue to update you as information becomes available. We are also in regular contact with our centres ensuring that all relevant precautions are being taken.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for any reason.

Take care.
